3rd trip 2d day evening

Spent this evening with Terry and SALLY. Went to Applebee's. Brought back some good memories of the store in Jacksonville, NC. When me and the guys used to go out there at least once a payday. SALLY did great!!!!! She went under the table and laid down. She actually laid there with her head on my foot. That helped me to relax. I knew where she was and the contact helped!! Even with a lot of noise and activity going on behind the wall that my back was too. I could handle it. Afterwards the 3 of us went shopping to of all places WalMart. Yes I made it inside a WalMart. It took me a little bit to get up the nerve to try it and even while in there the thoughts of leaving crept in. But SALLY helped. I had to keep my focus on her and making sure of what was going on with her. Make sure she wasn't picking anything up off of the floor, or trying to sniff something on the shelves. She walked right next to the cart. Constantly looking up at me to make sure she was doing good. A lot of kids!!! But the parents helped me also. Every time I heard a kid start talking a bout SALLY my heart would start to race a little bit. The parents would acknowledge that SALLY was there and then tell the kids that they could not pet her. "Why not" was the next question. "Because she is a working dog!" Was the standard reply. "What is a working dog?" came the next question. After that I would tune out and concentrate on SALLY again. I had a couple people ask me directly about SALLY. One at Applebee's said as we walked out that she wanted to pet her but knew she couldn't. I said thank you and she replied that SALLY was a very beautiful dog. Again I said Thank You. At WalMart the clerk that we checked out with was asking me about what SALLY was being trained for. I told her that SALLY was actually training me. The clerk gave me a funny look and I handed her a card that paws4people had supplied for me. She gave it a quick glance and said thank you. Then commented how beautiful SALLY was. Amazing how SALLY gets all the attention!! I have NO problem with that at all. So what was kind of a stressful evening turned out to be alright. Looking forward to the next challenge ahead of Sally and I.
